James R. Lange
Lange Law Offices, PLC a general practice law firm. 

James R. Lange offers his extensive experience in designing, facilitating, and analyzing collaborative processes. His background and insights have helped public and private sectors pursue innovative approaches to identify problems in solving conflicts; particularly those involving valuation disputes, accounting theory, economic theory, agriculture, construction, manufacturing, catastrophic losses, and insurance coverage disputes. Mr. Lange has mediated a wide range of issues for a diverse client base.

Before founding Lange Law Offices, James Lange was an associate for a large law firm practicing in the national arena of insurance defense litigation involving fires, explosions, catastrophic losses, chemical spills, and agriculturally based litigation. As an associate, he traveled to various states to investigate and litigate many calamitous events including grain elevator explosions, commercial hog confinement fires, storage facility structural failures and chemical spills.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Lange worked as a corporate accountant for a large multinational manufacturing and retail distribution company. He also owned and operated a large commercial grain, beef, pork, and poultry farm in Iowa for over ten years.

EDUCATION

Currently, James Lange is an Adjunct Professor of Law for the University of St. Thomas and teaches Business Law to Master of Business Arts candidates.

James R. Lange completed a Master of Arts at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., satisfied the requirements necessary to qualify for the Certified Public Accounting examination, and has been recognized by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for Civil Facilitative Adjudicative Alternative Dispute Resolution, Arbitration and Mediation.

Mr. Lange feels a deep commitment to the agricultural sector; and has volunteered his time and expertise on a pro-bono basis to Minnesota and South Dakota farmers through the Farmers' Legal Action Group, Inc. He is a past or current member of the following Orginizations: the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Minnesota State Bar Association, the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, and numerous other organizations. He has also sat on the Board of Directors of a regional Farmers Co-operative Association supplying agricultural inputs directly to the farmer end-user.
